PHILLY SPORTS CORNER- EAGLES, FLYERS, SIXERS, PHILLIES, BASEBALL PLAYOFFS

 - Despite the fact Minnesota really needs the game and they have revenge for losing the NFC Championship Game last January..and they have 10 days rest, I still can't see the Eagles losing a  at home despite all their injuriesThe Birds are 17-3 under Coach Doug Pederson at Lincoln Finanial Field.. Maybe I'll regret not listening to my head over my heart on Monday but I'm saying Birds 34 Vikings 24.

Nice to see the Flyers get off to a fast start, beating the defending Western Conference champs, the Golden Knights, 5-2, especially after Vegas raised their Conference Championship banner. Goalie Brian Elliot made some good saves and Wayne Simmons got off to a quick start. One more road game, Saturday night in Colorado, before the Flyers- and Gritty- come home.

The Sixers are in China, playing exhibition games. Joel Enbiied is making friends, J.J. Reddick is apologizing for remarks recently, and Markelle Fultz actually hit a three-pointer. All in preparation for their opener against Boston in a few weeks. I still see the Sixers winning less games this season.

Still waiting for Phillies' owner to make some sort of statement, after embarrassing press conferences this week by Klentak and MacPhail. As is Middleton's M.O., i don't look for him to speak until after something positive happens. maybe once they do sign a Harper or Machado, or make a significant trade, maybe only then will Middleton address the fans.

Great day for post-season baseball fans today, with 4 games on tap. As predicted, both the Dodgers and Brewers won their opening games. The focus will be on Red Sox vs/ Yankees. new York can beat Boston, as they did last fall, even though the Bosox have home field advantage.

Looks Like Cole Hamels may resign with the Cubs. Shame the Phillies didn't get him. He would've helped not only this season, but seasons beyond, even working with the young hurlers. The rotation needs a lefty to balance it out. A Patrick Corbin or J. A. Happ could be Phillie targets this off-season to stabilize the starting staff.
