PHILLY SPORTS CORNER- WORLD SERIES, SIXERS, EAGLES

- Boston won Game 2 of the World Series last night, taking a 2-0 lead over the Dodgers. I can't see LA coming back now. Even if the Dodgers sweep the three games in Los Angeles ( unlikely), they still need to take one in Boston. It ain't happening.

I expect the Red Sox to at least take one game in LA, then go back to Fenway Park and wrap-up the world championship. Wouldn't surprise me to see the Sox win it  in California.

- The Sixers dropped to 2-3 last night with their loss to Milwaukee on the road. Back-to-back losses to Detroit and the Bucks. And I was thinking the only teams in the East to worry about were Boston and Toronto.

Markelle Fultz had another poor game, with a quiet five points. Looks like a bust to me.

- Marcus Hayes writes in this mornings' paper what I've been saying all along- the Eagles are not motivated this season. They are not hungry anymore. The desire is lacking. Fat and sassy. No wonder we haven't had a repeat Super Bowl champion in years.

Not only are the Birds the targets for every team on their schedule, without saying so, they are too satisfied with themselves. It shows in the many mental mistakes. They obviously didn't prepare well during the off=season, and now are not having good practices, which carries over to Sunday.

Yes, there are injuries, concerns with the defense, with play-calling, even with QB Carson Wentz himself. But the real issue is, and has been, do the Eagles want it bad enough again?

So far the answer is no.
