35 years ago this weekend, the sports world mourned the death of Kansas City Chiefs running back Joe Delaney, who lost his life when he attempted to save three young boys who were drowning in a pond at Chennault Park in Monroe, Louisiana. The former All-American at Northwestern State was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1997.
