PHILLY SPORTS CORNER- SIXERS, NFL

* Give the Sixers credit for hanging in there in Boston last night before ultimately losing to the Celtics.I'm wondering  what would've happened if Joel Embiid had played.

Hopefully the Sixers' organization changes its policy soon. If Embiid isn't injured, why isn't he allowed to play back-to-back games? Why are his minutes limited?

To me, it's stupid. You can play the "what if" game forever- what if Embiid plays and gets hurt? etc... If the guy is bound to get hurt, he will, regardless.

I get it, that he played the home game with Washington so the fans could see him play in person. You spend close to $200 for a Sixers ticket, you want to see their best players play, especially one so fun and dynamic as Embiid.

Still, the Celtic game was bigger in ym mind. The Sixers are beating everyone else but the really good teams. Witness recent losses to Golden State and Cleveland as well.

Meanwhile, where is No.1 overall draft pick Markelle Fultz? In Kentucky of all places, getting his aching shoulder tended to. Jahill Okafor is letting it be known he wants out of Philly. Supposedly the asking price for Okafor has dropped to a second round draft pick.

Like the Trump administration, there seems to be news everyday from these Sixers. Always interesting.

So, the Dallas Cowboys thrashed the Washington Redskins last night, 38-14, improving to 6-6. Don't get too pumped up Dallas fans: your team is still 4 1/2 games behind the Birds, already having lost to Philly, with only 4 games to play.

Dallas can hope for a wild card spot. They should win next week against the Giants. They then play at Oakland, get Elliot back for the final two games of the season, play Seattle at home, then face the Eagles at the Linc on New Year's Eve.

The Redskins are dead, another disappointing season as they mull over signing QB Kirk Cousins to a long-term contract. They are a team in Purgatory, not going anywhere, with a mediocre coach and bad owner.
