PHILLY SPORTS CORNER- FLYERS, SIXERS, EAGLES

* After losing 10 games in a row, the Flyers are suddenly on a two-game winning streak, beating Edmonton on the road last night. They finish their Western Canada trip with a game in Vancouver tonight.

* Meanwhile, the Sixers play a nationally televised game tonight at home against the Los Angeles Lakers and Lonzo Ball ( and his big-mouthed dad).

After taking the Phoenix Suns lightly on Monday night, the 76'ers will hopefully shine tonight. While in LA lat month, center Joel Embiid went nuts and had the game of his career so far.

* Speaking of LA, the Eagles are in Southern California, practicing at Angels Stadium in Anaheim this week. It's a baseball field that has been converted to football for the week.

I'm sure the arrangements were made a long time ago, but smart move by the Eagles again. Wildfires are devastating the Los Angeles area now. In fact, The Rams themselves couldn't practice yesterday because of the poor air quality, and had to relocate to a high school field..

The Birds are in Anaheim, which is about 8 miles below the wildfires. If the Colosseum is deemed unsafe to use this Sunday because of the fires the game will be relocated to Angels Stadium.

As stated yesterday, it's a big game for both teams, but I think it's a bigger game for the Eagles, even though the Rams are only a game behind Philly. Why? Because the Eagles need to keep pace with Minnesota for best record in the NFC. Plus next week will actually be a bigger game for LA. They travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks in a battle for the NFC West crown.

The Rams have already lost to Seattle, so they need to win next Sunday. Losing against Eagles, while Seattle plays in Jacksonville this week, wouldn't doom the Rams as losing in Seattle next week would. Lose next week and the Rams are fighting for a wild card spot.

The Eagles should come out as an angry team. I don't think it will be close. I say Eagles 34 Rams 13.

Then the Birds come back east, beat the Giants in New York, and win it's last two games at the Linc vs the Raiders and Cowboys, and end the season 14-2.
