PHILLY SPORTS CORNER- PHILLIES, EAGLES, NBA

- The Phillies won their thrd game in a row by beating Cincinnati Friday night at Citizens Bank Park. Zach Eflin returned from the iL and pitched 6 1/3  solid innings for the win. Hector Neris survived a shaky 9th inning to save the victory.

The Phils remain in first place in NL East, two games in front of Atlanta.

Jay Bruce hit his 4th home run in four games with the team.

The Phillies play the Reds again this afternoon at 4:05. Nick Pivetta tries to follow-up his excellent effort in Los Angeles today.

As I predicted here, Siranthony Dominguez hurt his right elbow in San Diego and will most likely need Tommy John surgery which will not only end his season but will cost him a full year of rehab. He should get the surgery now so he may retunr late in 2020.

- Eagles executive Joe Douglas  was hired as the New York Jets new general manager . Douglas gets a raise and foll say with the jets. He was a nice talent evaluator for the Birds. Next April in the NFL Draft we will see if he is misse- The Toronto Raptors took a commanding 3-1 advantage in the NBA Finals with their win over Golden State last night. The Warriors lsot their two home games nad seem doomed now. They could win three in a row but Monday Game Five is in Toronto, with the Raptors having a chance to win their first ever world championship.
