THE PICK- WEEK 2-LAST FAN STANDING FOOTBALL POOL

I squeezed by week 1 of the season, taking Pittsburgh over Cleveland. The score as closer than expected, but you only have to win so I'm happy to get through and survive.

I am taking Oakland at home this week against the awful jets. The Raiders are a big 14-point favorite. Oakland is 1-0 after beating Tennessee on the road. New York is tanking the season. They played expectedly bad in their opening week loss to the Bills in Buffalo.

If the Jets pull the major upset I won't be alone in going down so early. Everyone will jump on the Raiders, more so playign against the Jets. Baltimore was another choice. They have their home opener this Sunday vs the Browns. Looking down the road, I'm saving the Ravens later on at home. Oakland should get me thru.

When will I take the Eagles? Probably not  for a few weeks, when they play Arizona at home in early October. The Cards don't play well in the eastern time zone, and the 1:00 game here will feel like 10 in the morning to the Cardinal players. Cleveland only lost by 3 points to the Steeler sin week 1. I went against my cardinal rule of not taking a visiting team, no matter how bad the home team is. Emotions run high, and with a turnover and some luck, even a club as bad as Cleveland can pull off an ruin my hopes in the pool. And Pittsburgh has taken me out twice in previous years.

So, the Raider-Jet game isn't until late on Sunday afternoon. Anything can happen in the NFL, but it's a pretty sure bet I'll be moving onto week 3, where the selections will be getting harder as the choice in teams slowly dwindles down.

Make it Oakland 41 New York 6
