* Rhys did it again. Hoskins hit his 18th last night, in a 10-0 mauling of Miami.
The Phils are scoring like crazy- mostly without the guy who leads the team in home runs and RBIs- Tommy Joseph. Hoskins, Williams, Alfaro, Crawford-= young guys playing great. Vets like Hernandez, Herrera , Franco and Galvis have picked it up.The club is proving there can very much be life without Joseph if/when he is traded this off-season.
Hoskins is an alien, out of this world good. Is he the next Mike Trout? He has given fans a reason to get excited this year and look forward to 2018. All of a sudden I can't wait for spring training and a full year of The Alien.
* The Indians were down to their finals trike last night before they rallied and beat the Royals in 10 innings, 3-2 to extend their record winning streak to 22 games in a row. Incredible! They have 3 more games at home with Kansas City this weekend, then off to play Trout and the Angels, possibly to break the all-time record for winning streaks in baseball, 26 games. We are living thru a record that may never be broken.
* Everyone in the media is picking the Eagles to lose on Sunday. Except for WIP's Angelo Cataldi. I listed my feelings yesterday on the blog, why the Chiefs will win. But if the Birds score early, taking the crowd out of the game, if the Birds force turnovers and get the kind of pass rush they had last week vs Washington, yes, I can see Philly coming home 2-0 on the early season.
I'm still concerned about the rookie kicker. But he was drafted and had a great college career at Memphis. What if he's a cool customer and wins the game with a late field goal? What if Carson Wentz lights up the injury-riddled Kansas City secondary?
KC 24 Phila. 17.....But I would believe this could be the final score too: Eagles 31 Chiefs 20
