As much as we wanted our Phillies and Eagles to finally win a championship, there was always next season. There was always hope in the spring or fall. A new baseball or football season gave me more reason to keep fighting and hang in there. As disappointed as we were when our Philly teams finished in last place, and as impossible it seemed to win a World Series, the frustrating defeats faded into renewed hope each year, hope which kept my dreams alive and made me fight to live even more.
