WHAT WOULD YOU DO?- COX, TROUT, EMBIID

A new segment entitled What Would You Do?

SHOULD THE EAGLES TRADE FLETCHER COX?

I heard this proposal recently. At first I thought this was crazy. Then I thought about it some more.

Cox made the Pro Bowl last season, despite an "off" season as perceived by most fans. Cox was often double-teamed and really didn't figure out how to combat it.

Trading Cox, who is still young and a bonafide star, would free up salary cap space to go after free agents and resign players  like Bennie Logan.

Trading Cox may get you several high draft picks in return. But would the Eagles wisely use those draft picks, especially to get much-needed weapons for Carson Wentz.

Trading Cox would give Philly fans the impression of rebuilding, but aren't the Birds really rebuilding? What massage would such a bold move send to the fans?

Cox may never have as much value as he does now. Would you trade Fletcher Cox?

SHOULD THE PHILLIES TRY TO TRADE FOR MIKE TROUT?

The Angels, so far, haven't made Trout available. But if they continue to slide, would they consider it to start and rebuild their depleted farm system?

Trout is still young-25- after again winning the MVP award in the American League. Trout will be a free agent after the 2020 season. He is a local kid, from Millville, New Jersey. He wants to come home, spending the majority of his off-season back home, especially attending Eagles' games. If the money is equal and Philadelphia is in the mix, I would think trout would take the hometown offer first.

What would the Phillies have to give up in a proposed trade? 4-5 top prospects. Start with CF Mickey Moniak, the Phils overall #1 draft pick last season. He is only 20, has a tremendous high ceiling in the talent department, and would fill Trout's spot in the Anaheim outfield.

The Phils have the money to give Trout a nice, lifetime contract.

Should the Phillies be proactive and trade for Trout before he becomes a free agent? Would you give up kids like Crawford, Williams, Alfaro, Couzins, as well as Moniak?

Prospects are just that- they haven't proven themselves yet. Trout is a true, proven superstar. Imagine a sold-out Citizens Bank Park  every night, like the old days? The Phillies in contention for the next 10 years? Imagine the excitement such a  move would bring?

SHOULD THE SIXERS PLAY JOEL EMBIID MOVE?

Right now, the 76ers are holding Embiid to around 28 minutes a game, including nights off during back to back  games.

Whatever the Sixers are doing with Embiid is working. Do you rock that routine for the sake of making a long-shot playoff run?

Are the Sixers being too overprotective of the oft-injured Embiid?

Embiid is the future superstar of this team. Would you try to trade Noel, Okafer, or both?

What would you do?

THE EAGLES DRAFT #14 OR $!% IN THE SPRING. WITH THAT PICK WHAT POSITION WOULD YOU TAKE?

THe Birds need weapons for Carson Wentz. Why invest so much in a young quarterback if he doesn't have players around him? So, it makes sense to draft a stud wide receiver. Mike Williams seems to be the best WR coming out, but he may be gone by then. Should the Eagles trade up to draft Williams? Or should they take another receiver in the first round, or wait until later?

The eagles gave up more big pass plays the last two years then any other defense in football. They need a shut-down corner back. This upcoming draft is deep in defensive backs. Getting a DB in Round One is viable, but it also makes sense to grab secondary help in later rounds.

What about a runningback? Florida State RB Dalvin Cook may be available at the Eagles' pick. Do you take a running back who will carry the load and give Wentz another weapon?

Pass rush is also a big need for Philadelphia. Putting pressure on opposing QBs would help to cover up any deficiencies in the secondary. Do The Birds take a defensive end witht heir first pick?

What would you do?
