Introducing a new department on the Wheeling Around Phoenixville blog. In the tradition of Phillies Phodder, Chirping birds and Philly Sports Corner, ther eis now Six-Shooter, all about the Philadelphia 76'ers.
This shapes up to be an exciting season, with young guy slike Embiid, Simmons and Fultz ready to shine, and solid vets like J.J. Redick climbing on board to add much-needed shooting.
14,000 season tickets are already sold. Highly-anticipated match-ups agains tthe Lakers and Celtics will be highlights. Crazy Lavar Ball adds a villian and fun to the drama.
The Sixers are in Vegas for the Summe rLeague. No. 1 draft pick Markelle Fultz injured his left ankle last night. Right now the team is saying he has a sprin. More tests and evaluation to come. Hopfully it's more of a scare and a long-term injury.
Fultz won't play again til training camp. Why risk it? Already the team is fragile with past injuries. Cut me a break, God.Injuries are the one thing which could derail the hope of the upcoming season and the future.
Fultz should have a solid 10 weeks to chill until playing basketball again. We have seen enough for now.
& A guy who should be playing but isn't is Ben Simmons. He's out in Vegas, watching the Summer League games with the team yet he sits?
When is he finally going to get his ass on the court and play some competitive ball?
